Biography

Nina Basu handles estate litigation matters as of counsel to Simpson Law, PA. Prior to forming her own firm in 2012, Nina practiced as an associate at McGuireWoods. She serves as the Chair of the Long Reach Village Board, on the Board of Directors of Howard County Tourism, on the Maryland State Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and served on the Howard County Executive’s Transition Team. Nina is a leader who brings people together, solves problems, and gets things done. Nina brings strong legal skills, finance skills, organizational development skills, and most importantly passion to every project.

Community Involvement

Nina Basu is an active leader in her community, serving in various key roles, including on the Alumni Board of the University of Maryland School of Law and the Alumni Executive Council at McDonogh School. She is also a dedicated advocate for women’s issues through her involvement with the Howard County Commission for Women. Additionally, Nina contributes to local governance and planning as a member of the Board of Directors for the Long Reach Community Association and the Howard County General Plan Task Force.
