Friedman has more than 20 years of real-life experience providing advice and counsel to businesses, banks, home buyers/sellers, builders and developers on a broad range of legal and business matters. She is experienced in negotiating, drafting and reviewing documents and agreements for the purchase, sale and development of real estate and for the day-to-day operations of your business.
Nina Basu
Co-Counsel
Nina Basu handles estate litigation matters as of counsel to Simpson Law, PA. Prior to forming her own firm in 2012, Nina practiced as an associate at McGuireWoods. She serves as the Chair of the Long Reach Village Board, on the Board of Directors of Howard County Tourism, on the Maryland State Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and served on the Howard County Executive’s Transition Team.

Jordana Guzman
Co-Counsel
Jordana Guzman is a Co-counsel at Simpson Law, PA. She recently graduated from the University of Maryland, School of Law, where her course work has included Trusts & Estates, Financial Planning for Individuals, and Real Estate Transactions. At Simpson Law, Jordana provides support in various aspects of client representation. Jordana focuses on the drafting of basic Last Wills and Testaments, and Revocable Living Trusts, with plans to become more educated in elder law issues. Jordana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College (UMBC). In her free time, Jordana enjoys drawing and learning new languages.
L. Addison Holmes
Legal Assistant
L. Addison Holmes (Addy) has been working as Simpson Law’s legal assistant since 2016. He likes that working at a small firm allows him to get to know Simpson Law clients personally. When he’s not at the office, he enjoys a good fantasy novel, exploring DC with his wife, and playing recreational sports. He attended the University of Maryland (go Terps!).
Kira Tregoning
Proofreader
Kira Tregoning is an author and the owner of Maia Media Management. With her eagle eye, she has worked with Simpson Law since 2011 proofing estate plans and other documents prior to release to our clients. Kira received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in both the Classics and Linguistics from the University of Maryland in 2010 and a Masters in Fine Arts from Signum University in 2023.
Kathy Heldman
Marketing and Communications
Kathy is a marketing and communications executive with 20+ years of experience helping businesses create programs that attract new customers, build brands, and develop customer loyalty. She specializes in small business, law firm, and education marketing. Kathy has also worked for nonprofit organizations in the areas of community outreach, development, and consulting. Kathy loves helping people achieve their goals. Her superpower is creating fun and successful experiences for clients. Kathy’s promise is “We’ll work together until you love it!”
When she isn’t working, Kathy loves spending time outdoors with Andreas, her husband of 30 years, and their two rescue pups, Storm and Sammie. Kathy earned a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Michigan.
